About PlayBook
PlayBook is a diary for the games you love. Think of it as a scrapbook for your sporting life: every match you watch or attend, the rating you gave it, and what you thought at the final whistle — all in one place, and shared with other fans who care just as much.
Why a match diary?
Live-score apps are brilliant at telling you what's happening right now, but they forget everything the moment the next game kicks off. Fans don't. We remember the freezing night match where the late winner went in at the far post, the cup tie we travelled four hours for, and the derby we'd rather forget. PlayBook exists so those memories don't get lost.
Over a season your diary turns into a record of where you were, who you watched and how many grounds you've ticked off. Over several seasons it becomes a story you can scroll back through.
Logging a game
Find any match on the Explore page — we cover the Premier League, the Championship, League One and League Two, the FA Cup and League Cup, the big European leagues and competitions, Formula 1 and the NFL. Open a match and choose Log this match.
Say whether you watched it on TV, saw it on replay or attended in person, and whether you were in the home end, the away end or a neutral. You can add a star rating, a written review and, for games watched away from the ground, where you watched it — the pub, a mate's sofa or a bar on holiday. If a game you went to isn't listed, such as a pre-season friendly, you can add it yourself.
Ratings and reviews
Ratings run from half a star to five stars. They're about how good the game was to watch, not whether your team won — a 4–3 defeat can still be a five-star match. Each match page shows the community's average rating and every fan review.
Other fans can upvote or downvote a review once, so the most useful and entertaining reviews rise to the top. You can't vote on your own reviews, and you can report or block anyone who breaks the rules.
The 92 and the Passport
"Doing the 92" is a long-standing challenge among English football fans: visiting the home ground of every club in the Premier League and the three divisions of the Football League. The 92 page tracks your progress, ticking grounds off automatically whenever you log a game as attended. You can also tick off grounds you visited before you joined.
The Passport collects a stamp for every stadium you've been to, in any competition, with a count of how many games you've seen there.
Following other fans
Every member has a public profile with their diary, reviews and favourite teams. Follow fans from the Social page and their latest logs appear on your home page, so you can see who was at the same game as you and what they made of it. Your email address is never shown to anyone; other fans only see your @username.
Where the data comes from
Fixtures and results come from free public sports data services, including SportScore, Football-Data.org, ESPN and Jolpica for Formula 1, and are refreshed throughout the day. Ratings, reviews and diaries are written by PlayBook members.
